DIY RAISED GARDEN BEDS
Raised garden beds have become extremely popular for home gardeners. These types of gardens offer many benefits such as longer growing seasons due to better drainage and warmer soil as well as easier control over your soils pH. Raised garden beds also are easily visible making it less likely that human foot traffic will compact your soil. This creates a better growing environment where your plants can thrive.
If you decided to remove the grass from beneath your raised garden bed you will also have amazing weed control. This step isn’t necessary but it definitely is worth it if you have the time and energy!

Both annual and perennial plants can thrive in raised garden beds. The biggest factors to consider when choosing what to plant is available space, companion plants and overall garden goals.
