Alright, sharing some insight for those of you who are new and a reminder for those who are familiar – My name is Melissa and I have 4 kids who range in age from 11 to 2. I have an amazing husband and an adorable, high maintenance pup who just turned 9. Why am I sharing all this info? Because all of these wonderful people (and pets) are the reason I invested in an at home carpet cleaner.
While conducting my research for a carpet cleaner, I wanted something with a lot of reviews that I could comb through, accessories that made it easy to shampoo steps and furniture AND something that specifically called out fighting pet odors. Remember that adorable pup I mentioned previously? Bellatrix, our 9 year old Cockapoo, has intense skin allergies that flair up without warning. All of those allergies lead to a lot of smelly smells. I’m talking wiping her eyes on the carpet and couch corners, dragging her butt across the floor and LOTS OF LICKING. Don’t worry – she is loved through the ups and downs and treated well by her vets. However, the smell isn’t a welcomed visitor.

This carpet cleaner is absolutely amazing. I was a little anxious before purchasing because it’s a high ticket item but it was seriously the best investment I’ve made in a while. I am going on year 2 of owning this carpet cleaner and it has already proven it’s worth.

This carpet cleaner came with a ton of accessories to make it even more useful than just shampooing carpets. This specific model came with samples of carpet shampoo – both worked amazing! Be sure to check the model you order to ensure samples are included. I’ve linked this cleaner on Amazon since that’s where the current best deal is! The shampooer also came with a handy black bag to store all the accessories in, 2 attachments to use on smaller areas and furniture and easy-to-follow instructions so you can get the best clean.
Lastly, this carpet shampooer has a MAX/DEEP CLEAN mode as well as an EXPRESS CLEAN mode. It may sound intimidating but I promise it’s not. The directions walk you through this step-by-step.

Carpet Cleaner Results
This baby WORKS! Not only does she work, SHE WORKS AMAZINGLY! My first test was an Express Clean on our playroom sofa. This sofa is where the kids watch shoes, play video games and snack. They aren’t allowed to eat on our living room sofa so whenever they want a show and a snack, the playroom is where they head to.
The Express Clean feature worked fantastic. I was able to quickly shampoo the sofa just enough so that it felt clean and refreshed but would not be soaking wet for the rest of the day. I literally couldn’t believe how much dirt and grime this little machine removed in such a short amount of time.
Again, this was from a tiny 4 seater sofa. Isn’t that insane?! But also soooooo satisfying.
Next, I moved on to cleaning the playroom carpet. If you think the above sofa shampooer was satisfying, take a look below! OMG this was the best feeling. The carpet was so refreshed and the entire room smelled amazing. Cleaning the playroom carpet with a carpet shampooer does so much more than just vacuuming and dusting ever could!
Once the carpets were completely shampoo’d I opened the windows to let the fresh breeze blow through for some real time Spring Cleaning!
Overall Review For At Home Carpet Cleaner – Bissell Proheat 2x Revolution Pet Plus
If you can’t tell by now, I absolutely love our carpet cleaner. This purchase was such a great buy that will serve our family for years to come. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and it works. Literally, I couldn’t ask for more. If I had to name a negative about this machine it would be 1. That it’s pricey and 2. That it is heavy.
It’s easy to store (right next to our vacuum in the laundry room) and it’s easy to clean! There is a brush head that easily pops off so you can quickly clean it before putting away for your next clean. I do love the shampoos it came with but I’d be open to trying others as well. Our dog doesn’t have potty accidents in our home anymore so we don’t need anything that focuses on ammonia… well, until we start potty training our youngest I guess!
